Walter Battistetti

Co-founder and CEO of Sovran since it started as an Italian company, forming BlueLab in 2008. He has spent over 21 years in the voice recognition industry and began developing the technology behind Sovran after experiencing firsthand the limitations resulting from common machine learning methodologies applied to speech recognition.

Giovanni Andreani

Giovanni is a co-founder and the IT & R&D Director of Sovran. He has been instrumental in developing the technology and trade secrets that give Sovran an edge over every other VB provider in the industry today. Prior to Sovran, Giovanni worked at AT&T Shannon Labs in Florham Park (New Jersey, USA) as a researcher, focusing on natural language, advanced dialogue systems, and grammar design. He also collaborated on various R&D projects with the University of Edinburgh, Berkeley ISCI, and TecnoMarche Scientific Park. Additionally, he was involved in the development of an advanced VB help desk system that was presented to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is fluent in Italian and English, and holds a master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Rome, as well as a specialization degree in Audio-Visual Processing and Information Technology from the CEFRIEL Research Centre in Milan.

Pierluigi Ghiani

Chief Operating Officer of Sovran, Pierluigi Ghiani brings over 25 years of experience in customer care, telemarketing, and telesales. As Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Smart Contact, he demonstrated leadership in strategic operations, securing major deals, and driving value creation. With expertise in Telco and Utility markets, Pierluigi specializes in call center operations and process automation. His commitment to user-centric innovation ensures Sovran delivers operational excellence and transformative client solutions.

Patrick Blackman Sphaier

Patrick, Co-Founder and CTO of Sovran, drives the definition and execution of IT strategies aligned with the company’s goals, while leading the R&D team. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence for Natural Language Processing, Patrick brings a strong technical foundation to his role. His career includes key technical positions at Unisys Brazil, Banco BBM, Datamec, Contax, and Tata. An experienced sailor with two transoceanic crossings, Patrick combines strategic vision with a passion for innovation and exploration.

Leandro Novis

Leandro Novis, CEO of Sovran Brazil, brings over 25 years of experience in IT and strategic consulting, with a career at global leaders such as Deloitte, Wipro, and Softtek. Among numerous large-scale and complex projects he has led, a standout achievement is expanding an IT operation from USD 1 MM to USD 60 MM in annual revenue, scaling the team to over 300 employees and consistently surpassing EBITDA targets for over a decade. Leandro developed technology businesses for leading Brazilian companies in energy, telecom, finance, and industry. With global experience, he holds a Computer Science degree and certifications from FGV and Harvard.

Marcelo Luiz Arakaki

Marcelo Luiz Arakaki is a Co-founder of Sovran, responsible for the methodologies of design, construction, and evolution of bots, as well as defining performance indicators. He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) and has six postgraduate degrees in Administration and Technology. Additionally, he is self-taught in Applied Psycholinguistics and Knowledge Modeling.
